Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican-American sportscaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta Collins was bi-lingual since nine years old a useful skill that helped her secure her first position working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami which provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her next job was as a Sports Reporter at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009 she moved into Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on drug trafficking and immigration from both sides of the Mexico-Texas border, she was a news reporter on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm, an anchor for the news channel with a news anchor in English until 9pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10 pm, and then returned on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. The duties of anchoring for weather or sports were often requested. Then she anchor and wrote at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor herself. She was hired as sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. The same role, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta Collins was a native of Veracruz, Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. There is a sister. The family moved to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. After a short time, her father divorced from her mother and she was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away of kidney carcinoma in the year 2006. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, the young Collins took a place along with her sister. Still a senior in high school and yet having a clear vision of about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta was able to visit at the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her preferences. She discovered that she liked the campus and that the school provided the degree she was looking for. She finished school and went to the University as a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station director of WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her with his enthusiasm for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
